Depending on your target, they can be positioned and set in a variety of locations such as tree trunks, branches or the ground. This means each trap can be set in the direct line of any pests natural path. With the optional faceplace, along with the correct baiting method, this allows you a controlled trapping environment for targeting select pests like mustelids and reducing the risk of unwanted captures. 

Choose from two optional colours, blue or black. As the colour blue is not readily found in nature, it’s easily visible in dense bush or around the farm. Black works as a natural camouflage, making them hard to spot. Generally used for places in public view like walking tracks, so they don’t get stolen.

The unique shape and lightweight design allows traps to be stacked up to 10 in each hand, then safely carried in bulk to any location to be set with ease. All these features along with the simple functionality makes Possum Master one of the most user friendly tools for both large scale trap line operations and anyone at home looking to catch those intruders.

The Possum Master pest trap was designed in the early 90s by a true kiwi farmer and engineer, Harold Weekes. Known for his previous invention of the original docking elastrator ring dispenser system. He was approached by Peter Nelson of the Pest destruction board, to make a humane kill trap for possum control around New Zealand. After gathering some input from Regional Councils, DOC and trappers, he spent years developing a range of prototypes to test and perfect at his engineering workshop and stock farm in Taihape.

From the original no8 wire and tin variations, the Possum Master pest trap has come along way to meet the needs of both professional and domestic trappers of being lightweight, versatile, durable, species selective and cost effective.

Today Possum Master is still a family run kiwi business. Each one is hand built in Tauranga, from parts manufactured in New Zealand. The simple trap design has proven to last and preform extremely well in a variety of conditions after more than 20 years of being used and abused.
